Matthew Rathbun is the Executive Vice President at Coldwell Banker Elite in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In his professional life, he puts his clients before all else. He takes pride in his ability to help clients find exactly what they’re looking for. Work is a lot more than showing homes, cashing checks and filling out paperwork. Matthew spends hours studying consumer demographics, the market and what industry reports are saying about consumers.

While working as a Realtor, Matthew has been honored with the Virginia Association of Realtors Instructor of the year as well as the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors Rookie of the year. He was also given the President’s Award, Code of Ethics Award and the Honor “Role” award each year from 2007 to present.




Matthew Rathbun is a graduate of the Realtor Institute, Certified Residential Specialist, Seller Representative Specialist and carries a variety of the industry designations.




Matthew began his career as a Sales Manager at American Way Real Estate from 2002 to 2007. From there he moved on to become a Director of Professional Development in the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors from 2007 to 2009. He is currently the President of Four Pillars Education, Inc. as well as the Executive Vice President at Coldwell Banker Elite. At his position as Executive Vice President Matthew is responsible for Agent Development, Training, Risk Management and Company Development.

Throughout his many years in real estate, Matthew Rathbun has opened and managed many real estate firms as well as coached and mentored agents. He makes use of all of the practical technology and resources that he has to make sure his clients are able do business the way that they are comfortable with.


Outside of Work


Matthew loves his job but nothing is more important to him than his family and faith. He has been happily married for 20 years and has three amazing daughters. Through their church, Matthew and his wife have remained very active as volunteers in missions, audio/video ministry and wherever they are needed through the 22 years they have gone to Grace Church of Fredericksburg.
